Sona Appaiah Kallira is one of the entrepreneurs who is hard working and contributes to the enthusiastic environment at Veksthuset. Read about her and why she enjoys being entrepreneurial.
I am an illustrator and a web designer from India living in Kristiansand. I grew up in a home that had a love for art, which lead me into the choosing the creative field as a profession.
My educational background includes art, graphic design, web design, multimedia design and visual communication design. Since graduating, I have been working as a freelancer in the field of graphic and web design. My design background has helped me create visual concepts, by hand or by using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.
Entrepreneurship is unique business venture and considered a competitive option that requires good resources to get started, and successfully develop your product. I have always thought about creating my own app for the past few years but never really got further than then discussing the idea with my partner. Having access to such an incredible opportunity in Kristiansand, I sent a short brief of my idea and was offered a place at Veksthuset to further develop my project.
Veksthuset has been a friendly environment to be in, with entrepreneurs regularly sharing their work, inspiration and ideas, and helping each other out with tips, advice and feedback. The past 4 weeks that I have been here, my idea has already moved onto the process of wire framing, design and user ability testing of the application.
When you build something successful, it is a great feeling. As an entrepreneur, you get to work in a field or area that you really enjoy, or that compels you to continue working. Even though starting a business is hard work and risky one gets the opportunity of learning and gaining a great deal of experience.
